Working to improve people’s health requires research and development.
That’s why ZonMw provides grants for projects that promote innovation in
healthcare.
ZonMw’s targeted grant programmes respond optimally to the needs of the
practical field.
If you have a great idea that fits within one of these programmes, you can
submit your idea to us.
The programme committee will then assess whether or not your idea is relevant
to the objectives that the programme is pursuing, and will advise you
on whether or not to submit your idea as an application for a grant.

Your application for a grant will be assessed by external experts, known
as reviewers. These experts remain anonymous in order to guarantee the
objectivity of their assessment.
Grant recipients then have the opportunity to respond to the reviewers appraisal
and defend their applications.
On the basis of your application, the reviewers’ appraisal and your response
to their appraisal. ZonMw will decide which applications will and will not be
awarded a grant.
Unfortunately there is never enough money to award a grant to every proposal.
So, only the very best and most relevant proposals ultimately receive
a grant.
