(A boy stands in the sea, shovelling sand. Voice-over:) TRANQUIL MUSIC VOICE-OVER: Safety, mobility and quality of life in the Netherlands. That's what Rijkswaterstaat is working on. We can't do that on our own. After all, traffic and water don't stop at national borders. In addition, there are increasing global challenges, such as adaptation to climate change, lack of space and scarcity of raw materials. So, we can't limit ourselves to thinking from a national point of view. Tackling global and cross-border challenges, requires international collaboration. Our country may be small, but Rijkswaterstaat is active at an international level. By identifying significant changes, we can act on them and play an important role where developments are concerned, such as climate, smart mobility, circularity and the provision of data and information. Additionally, we encourage and foster a knowledge-sharing culture. We ensure that we source knowledge from over the border and bring it back, that we develop knowledge together with international partners and that our knowledge can be found. Moreover, we offer our colleagues advice and support on complex European grant applications, by means of the Rijkswaterstaat Office for European Programmes. So we're working together, boundlessly and we're strengthening international bonds. Only through international collaboration can we face the challenges ahead and improve safety, mobility and quality of life together. (An aerial shot of the breakers.
